This research extends previous findings related to the positive influence of company credibility on a social Cause–Brand Alliance’s (CBA) persuasion mechanism. This study analyzes the mediating role of two dimensions of company credibility (trustworthiness and expertise) with regard to the influence of altruistic attributions and two types of brand–cause fit (functional and image fit) on corporate social responsibility image. A structural equation model tests the proposed framework with a sample of 299 consumers, and the results suggest that (1) image fit (...) and altruistic attribution are cues that consumers use to evaluate company trustworthiness when linking to a social cause; (2) functional fit significantly influences perceived company expertise but not trustworthiness; and (3) trustworthiness has more weight than expertise in judgments about corporate social responsibility. This research analyses the influence of the perception of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR image) on consumer–company identification (C–C identification). This analysis involves an examination of the influence of CSR image on brand identity characteristics which provide consumers with an instrument to satisfy their self-definitional needs, thereby perceiving the brand as more attractive. Also, the direct and mediated influences (through their effect on brand attitude), of CSR-based C–C identification on purchase intention are analysed. The results offer empirical evidence that CSR generates (...) more C–C identification because it improves brand prestige and distinctiveness; brand coherence is also a powerful antecedent of brand attractiveness in the context of CSR communication. Finally, CSR-based C–C identification is able to generate directly better attitude towards the brand and greater purchase intention. (shrink)

The aim of this research is to develop and validate a measurement scale for consumer’s perceptions of corporate social responsibility using the three-dimensional social, environmental and economic conceptual approach as a theoretical basis. Based on the stages of measurement scale creation and validation suggested by DeVellis and supported by Churchill Jr.’s :64–73, 1979) suggestions, five different empirical studies are developed expressly and applied to consumers of tourist services. This research involves 1147 real tourists from 24 countries in two different cultural (...) and geographical contexts. A three-dimensional 18-item scale is proposed for measuring consumer perceptions of corporate social, environmental and economic responsibilities. This study compares cognitive and emotional responses to 360-degree vs. static (2D) videos in terms of visual attention, brand recognition, engagement of the prefrontal cortex, and emotions. Hypotheses are proposed based on the interactivity literature, cognitive overload, advertising response model and motivation, opportunity, and ability theoretical frameworks, and tested using neurophysiological tools: electroencephalography, eye-tracking, electrodermal activity, and facial coding. The results revealed that gaze view depends on ad content, visual attention paid being lower in 360-degree FMCG ads than in 2D (...) ads. Brand logo recognition is lower in 360-degree ads than in 2D video ads. Overall, 360-degree ads for durable products increase positive emotions, which carries the risk of non-exposure to some of the ad content. In testing four ads for durable goods and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) this research explains the mechanism through which 360-degree video ads outperform standard versions. (shrink)

Let us think about metaphysics not as the subject matter of a discipline—as classical rationalism puts it—but as the “natural place” that arouses our curiosity. Let us see in it something that completes and exceeds, shelters and disables, inspires and invalidates all the questions raised by the effect of a primeval impulse. Rather than metaphysics we should hence speak of “the metaphysical,” a horizon rather than a form of knowledge which vainlessly tries to emulate divine wisdom, we are forced to (...) ponder our point of view, the inquisitive gaze cast on that horizon, not so much as determining a position—since horizons tend to dissipate positions, to blur all point of references—but as a sign revealing a disposition, i.e., the trace of an attitude. As an attitude, this dis-position is a disruption or decentering of our habitual positions concerning the world and a bias that stimulates us to demand another kind of responses to questions which obviously are not those of every day. La gestión de la pandemia de COVID-19 por parte de los países occidentales es uno de los temas más controvertidos de los estudios sociales actuales. Uno de los conceptos centrales para analizar la ordenación de la gestión de la pandemia es el de Cosmopolítica, ya que nos permite ampliar la comprensión de la política para incluir a los ciudadanos, a los seres vivos no humanos, a los elementos terrestres y al propio SARS-CoV-2. Pero como argumentamos en este artículo, la cosmopolítica (...) necesita un poder previo, una potentia generativa que emana de la disposición de los actores mencionados. A partir del ejemplo de los meses en que se desarrolló y comenzó a inocularse la vacuna contra la COVID-19, ilustraremos la propuesta cosmoética: una ética afirmativa que tiñe y permea el agenciamiento de actores que constituyen la vacuna, permitiendo su despliegue para un posterior momento cosmopolítica. De este modo, concluimos que la gestión de la pandemia necesita no sólo atender a los ciudadanos no expertos o a los actores no humanos, sino también atender a la emergencia de nuevas realidades, tiempos y espacios. Los dos grandes problemas del enfoque supervaluacionista para la vaguedad son determinar cuáles son las precisificaciones admisibles y la vaguedad de orden superior ilimitado. Apelando al uso de los términos vagos por lo comunidad lingüística competente puede dividirse de forma tajante la extensión de un término precisando en que casos se aplica definidamente, en cuáles se aplica indefinidamente y en cuales es indeterminado si se aplica. Esto produce dos órdenes de vaguedad, con lo que se bloquean los argumentos sorites. Finalmente (...) se indaga qué semántica resulta más adecuada para una vaguedad de segundo orden. La vaguedad se basa en una indeterminación determinada en la aplicación de ciertos términos por parte de los hablantes nativos. (shrink)

En este artículo se presenta una ontología según la cual el mundo actual no es el único real, pero, al contrario que en la ontología de Lewis, no todos los mundos son reales, porque muchos de ellos siguen siendo mundos meramente posibles. Tras examinar cuidadosamente los pros y contras de los diferentes tipos de actualismo y posibilismo, esta nueva concepción posibilista (el multiposibilismo actual) es elaborada y defendida contra algunas objeciones. El punto de partida es que los mundos posibles sí (...) que incluyen individuos no actuales, y no únicamente estados de cosas no actualizados acerca de individuos actuales. Y el núcleo de la teoría consiste en conceder que muchos mundos son reales por igual, y ontológica y nomológicamente independientes entre sí, pero que la mayoría de ellos genera su propia serie de mundos posibles pero no actualizados inter-relacionados. De esta manera, permanecen intactas nuestras inuiciones metafísicas más profundas (como la identidad transmundana, la contingencia -tanto lógica como metafísica- del mundo actual, o los principios de la lógica clásica), pero existe una respuesta a la pregunta: "¿por qué precisamente el mundo actual es el real?" al negar que solamente él sea real. Al final del artículo se ponen de manifiesto algunas de las ventajas y del potencial ontológico y teológico de esta hipótesis. (shrink)

La creencia en la resurrección de los muertos es central para las religiones abrahámicas. Al estar actualmente desacreditada la noción de alma, muchos filósofos cristianos materialistas se replantean la posibilidad de tal resurrección. Dos problemas fundamentales amenazan tal posibilidad: la discontinuidad espacio-temporal entre la muerte y la resurrección (que impediría esta última si fuera imposible una existencia intermitente para los seres humanos) y la degeneración, disgregación o incluso completa destrucción de los componentes materiales del cuerpo (que impediría la reconstrucción del (...) cuerpo original). Ambas cuestiones ponen en peligro la identidad numérica entre la persona muerta y la resucitada. Tras examinar diversas hipótesis recientes que intentan superar estas dificultades, constato que, o bien recurren a ideas disparatadas para asegurar la identidad, o asumen directamente que el cuerpo resucitado es una mera copia del original. Así, concluyo que, supuesta una concepción puramente corporalista de la persona, no parece viable ninguna noción de resurrección que preserve la identidad personal. (shrink)

Résumé : L’article propose une démarche méthodologique permettant d’identifier la réflexion professionnelle chez des stagiaires en formation à l’enseignement. En effet, la capacité d’analyser sa pratique de façon réflexive est une composante d’une compétence professionnelle à développer selon le Ministère de l’Éducation du Québec. Une certaine forme de réflexion chez les étudiants est donc à acquérir et, du point de vue des tuteurs de stage, à faire acquérir. Quels sont les critères implicites que les enseignants associés des écoles ou les (...) superviseurs universitaires identifient afin d’évaluer la présence ainsi que la qualité de la compétence réflexive chez le stagiaire ? L’étude identifie une dizaine de points de repère afin de favoriser chez les tuteurs de stage l’évaluation de la compétence réflexive de leurs stagiaires. L’article valide ces critères à partir d’un extrait de discours de stagiaire, puis confronte cet extrait à une autre approche, consistant à détecter des reconceptualisations chez les stagiaires pour dépister de la réflexion. Une certaine cohérence s’établit avec les critères empiriques d’identification de la réflexion identifiés par induction chez les tuteurs de stage. S’ensuit une discussion sur ces critères en lien avec les approches méthodologiques adoptées. La recherche utilise un devis qualitatif et s’appuie sur des entretiens semi-structurés. Abstract : This article proposes a methodological process aimed at identifying professional reflection among student teachers in teacher education. The ability to analyze one’s practice reflectively is a component of one of the professional competencies that must be developed according to Quebec’s Ministry of Education. A certain form of reflection must therefore be acquired by students, and, from the standpoint of practicum supervisors, it must be developed in students. What are the implicit criteria that mentor teachers in schools or university-based supervisors identify in order to assess the presence and quality of student teachers' reflective competence? This study identifies a dozen guideposts to assist supervisors in this direction. The article first validates these criteria based on an excerpt of a student teachers’ statements, then submits the same excerpt to another approach aimed at detecting the student teacher’s reconceptualizations with a view to pinpointing reflection. A certain degree of coherence is established with the empirical criteria for identifying reflection as identified inductively by practicum supervisors. A discussion follows on these same criteria in line with the methodological approaches adopted. This research is based on a qualitative study. (shrink)

Habemas; una crítica al pensamiento cuasi-anarquista de John Hollaway en torno (...) al problema de las instituciones políticas y el poder, para concluir con la propuesta de que el pensamiento crítico de las dos primeras generaciones de la Escuela de Frankfurt se continuaría en la periferia mundial postcolonial a través de la filosofía de la liberación; más en concreto, por medio de una política de la liberación, que es producto del «giro decolonizador» desde los años setenta del siglo XX. This article assesses an assumption pervasive in one strain of arguments in favor of stringent immigration controls. The assumption affirms that—for the case of regular admissions—to a certain extent states are permitted to prioritize the interests of their citizens and residents by issuing exclusionary immigration policies (call this the priority assumption). Using the normative methodology of applied international ethics, I suggest some broad constraints to this priority assumption that have a bearing on justifications for current practical immigration policy in Europe, (...) North America, and beyond. I do so by redefining borders as domestic-international institutions that open up borders not only to (internal) standards of justice but also to standards of international legitimacy. (shrink)

Se establecen las relaciones internas entre tres núcleos fundamentales del pensamiento de Newman: conciencia, fe y desarrollo de la doctrina cristiana; y se muestran, además, como claves interpretativas de su biografía, fundamentalmente hasta su conversión a la Iglesia Católica en 1845. La tesis es que la fe, como contenido de verdad, es la piedra clave que sostiene este edificio de pensamiento y vida. A ella tiende el mandato de la conciencia, el primero de los elementos que sostienen el acto libre (...) de la fe. El desarrollo de la doctrina cristiana establece el vínculo entre la fe revelada y el lugar donde esta fe vive, la Iglesia Católica Romana. (shrink)

Many biblical scholars have underlined the importance of Numbers 13-14, especially because these chapters are a reflection on Israel's greatest sin and rebellion against God in the desert. God's reaction to that sin is clear: of all the men who have put me to the test ten times already and have failed to heed my voice, not one shall see the land which I promised on oath to their fathers. It seems that the verbs 'see' and 'hear', both sentient verbs, (...) are important in both the statement of God and that of the Spies. This article focuses on this particular point and in the conclusions which can be drawn from it. It also considers the frustrating intercession of Moses before God on behalf of his people, on account of the threat to Israel about the promised land. (shrink)

Para ello contextualiza el país y el tiempo en que escribieron, y nos ofrece una interiorización a sus dramaturgias. Fugard produjo en un contexto de apartheid desde la clandestinidad. Radrigán, bajo dictadura y en condiciones de represión y autocensura. Ambos rescatan la dignidad de los marginados de su patria.

In the second book of Soliloquia, Augustine queries: what is ‘true’ and what is ‘false’. Through the examination, Augustine (Ratio) expresses the idea that ‘true’ is that which exists. Therefore, whatever exists is true; nothing will be false. But then, what is ‘false’? This paper will first clarify that the examination of ‘false’ in Soliloquia relates to Augustine’s awareness of the problem of sin. Already in Soliloquia, Augustine finds that the soul can have in itself the cause of sin so (...) as to be unable to have the truth. Secondly, the author examines how the epistemology of falsehood is developed in the early Augustine by examining his articles after Soliloquia, focusing on the concept of lying in De Genesi contra Manichaeos and De vera religione. This will show that Augustine's understanding of falsehood and lying is related to his soteriology. Thirdly, the paper focuses on q. 63 of De diversis quaestionibus LXXXIII, in order to clarify what Augustine thinks about the relationship between God and human soul, where Augustine notes the significance of knowing and confessing sin as the means of cooperative salvation already described in his early works.
